What is this?

"v7ndotcom elursrebmem" is the keyphrase chosen for the SEO competition organised by v7n.com. The contest is simple - the winning site must be ranking number 1 in Google.com for the term "v7ndotcom elursrebmem" on May 15th 2006.

Um OK...Isn't this a bit lame?

Well yeh a little, but hey - it's just for fun! There's no reason folks can't have a bit of a laugh in one of the most competitive industries in the world, is there? Plus I've always been a fan of v7ndotcom elursrebmem - it's perhaps my favourite thing in the whole world! Seriously though, lot's of people are getting involved and it's interesting to see where the contest goes from here.

V7ndotcom Elursrebmem History

OK so it's a viral marketing campaign, but it's not without some drama. I'd rather not get involved in the various "sides" of this (to be honest I think everyone involved is taking things just a little too seriously), but nonetheless it makes an interesting read. So have a look at our V7ndotcom Eluresrebmem SEO Competition History page for some info.

Webguerilla and friends

Webguerilla (aka Greg Boser), a veteran of the SEO community has offered a prize for the V7ndotcom Eluresrebmem competition, although the ruleset is slightly different (have a read of the contest's history for more info). We've added a summary of the rules of Greg's contest (using the same keywords, "v7ndotcom elursrebmem") on our Webguerilla page (yup Greg, you get your own page!).

Winnings go to charity

Given a few other folks are doing it as well, I think it would be wrong not to do the same. I have no charity in mind just now, so I'll open it to public suggestions and have a poll nearer the time if it looks like we might win. Feel free to have your say.

Good luck to everyone entering the competition!

v7ndotcom elursrebmem information

v7ndotcom elursrebmem

OK so what's it all about? Well the "v7ndotcom" part is self-explanatory - the contest was set up by John Scott over on the v7n.com (dot com - geddit?) forums.

The "elursrebmem" is German for "members rule", which is either an insight into John's sexual orientation (sorry John, had to do it! :p) or simply means "members rule" (for the slow people, read "elursrebmem" backwards...).
