A Guide on how to submit RSS feeds to directories

There are many RSS directories on the web these days - more and more pop up each day (try a Google search for "RSS directory" to start with). This article will look at a few of the big ones with some information on how to submit your RSS feed to them.

Syndic8.com

Brainchild of Jeff Barr and supported by Bill Kearney, Syndic8.com has been around for years now, being conceived as an idea by Barr in 2001. The site is very easy to use but you need to register and login to submit your feed to the directory.

RSS Specifications

RSS Specifications is an excellent RSS directory and resource site. Again, very simple to use and offers a wide range of RSS information articles, as well as a good directory list of other RSS sites to submit your feed to.

RSS Network

Very simply put in the site's "about us" page, the goal of the site is to enable you to find RSS feeds with minimal effort! Submit your feed here - very quick and no registration required.

Technorati

A large and popular RSS feed site, Technorati boasts 25.3 million and 1.9 billion links tracked (as of Jan 2006). You don't submit your feed to this site - you can ping them and they will come and check for new content automatically (and this feature can be integrated into popular blog software to automate the process).

There are many other RSS directories out there - your best bet is to crawl through them and find the ones that work for you.
